As we embark on our 21st academic year, hundreds of bright, determined students have officially returned to our classrooms across both Haitian Roots schools. Amid ongoing national turmoil and economic hardship, these school gates remain an unshakeable sanctuary of learning, stability, and hope.

Our building in Port-au-Prince requires extensive structural repairs to remain operational. Years of environmental wear have led to vulnerabilities that can no longer be ignored. We must act now to maintain a safe environment for our children to learn.

A recent accident at one of our schools has deeply affected our community. A solar panel fell from a neighboring building and landed in the school courtyard, injuring several students. Some were rushed to the hospital, with a few in critical condition. Thankfully, all are now recovering well. There is an urgent need to support these students and their families as they face significant medical expenses, and to improve safety measures at the school to prevent future accidents.
